Climate Youth Japan

Climate Youth Japan (CYJ) is a NGO founded in 2010 by the youth who were taking actions with high interests in climate change issues. They aim to realize the balanced and sustainable society by raising our voices on behalf of Japanese youth. They constantly conduct workshops or campaign activities, as well as organize exchanges with foreign youth or detachment projects to international conferences.

Fridays for Future

FridaysForFuture is a movement that started in August 2018, when 15 year old Greta Thunberg sat in front of the Swedish parliament every school day for three weeks, to protest against the lack of action on the climate crisis. In February of 2019, the FridaysForFuture in Japan started from Tokyo. Ever since the start, our movement is growing little by little in Japan with the youth at its heart.
