Extinction Rebellion China (also known as XR China) is the Chinese branch of the global nonviolent civil disobedience movement against the sixth mass extinction. Currently building a climate movement core network. Founded in May 2019.

Fridays for Future China

Fridays for Future China (or FFF China) is a youth climate activism movement in China, founded in March 2019. Currently includes 60 activists from Tongcheng, Guilin, Kunming, Nanjing, Shanghai, Hefei, Yongzhou, Beijing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Heilongjiang, Fuzhou, Laibin, Baise, Wuhan, Shenzhen. Events range from panel talks, weekly Friday street activism, #SaturdayCafe climate documentary screenings, and campaigns such as #Protestbyplanting,#PlantforSurvival, zero waste lifestyle, etc. Their current priority is to build offline core networks between civil societies and individuals.

Plant for Survival

 

Plant for Survival is a grassroots movement led by Fridays For Future. Its goal is to provide an easier way for Chinese people to be activists through #ProtestbyPlanting. According to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, planting new 1 trillion trees before 2030 is probably the most effective thing to tackle the climate crisis. They urge the Chinese government to adapt the National Compulsory Planting Trees Codes to 18-20 trees per person per year.
