Environmentalists from all over the world are asking for Sir David Attenborough to #passthemic. The team behind Attenborough’s new record-breaking social media account, created to promote Attenborough’s latest documentary A Life on Our Planet, announced they will stop posting after just six weeks of activity. The account has received 6.1 million followers, approximately 45 million video plays, and caused a tidal wave of social engagement.Fridays For Future activists and environmentalists from across the internet have expressed a deep concern over the team’s decision to close the account, highlighting it as a missed opportunity for climate education, given it has the power to reach millions of engaged people. We are inviting you to join us in asking Sir David to pass the mic and sign this open letter here.
